Recombinant human Hp1α (CBX5)
Catalog # : EPX-001-REP
Source : Human
Expressed in : E. Coli
Quantity : 25µg of recombinant human Hp1α at 0.5µg /µl
Background:
Hp1α (CBX5) is a component of heterochromatin that
recognizes and
binds histone H3 tails methylated at 'Lys-9' (H3K9me), leading to
epigenetic repression (1). CBX5 associates with chromosomes during
mitosis (2). Can interact with lamin-B receptor (LBR). This interaction
can contribute to the association of the heterochromatin with the inner
nuclear membrane. Involved in the formation of functional kinetochore
through interaction with MIS12 complex proteins.
Protein details:
Recombinant human N-terminal His tagged Hp1α was produced in E. Coli, purified using FPLC and formulated in a storage buffer containing 20mM Tris-Cl pH 7.6, 1mM EDTA, 0.15 M NaCl, 10% glycerol, 0.5mM PMSF and 1mM DTT. Protein concentration was determined by spectrometry. >98% purity by SDS-PAGE.
Quality control: Each lot has been evaluated by 10% Tris Glycine SDS-PAGE.
